15 lightyears is seeking an experienced Solar Installer to join our team. Our Installers assist with the mechanical portion of solar installation by organizing, performing safety equipment placement, arranging the array layout, racking installations, and placing modules. Our Solar Installers are a vital part of our organization and we take pride in hiring and training the best.


Job Type: Full-Time


Location: 15 lightyears corporate office located in Longwood, FL. Job is performed in various counties across Central Florida.


Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Optional Saturdays as needed.

  • Starting Pay: $20+/hr. Based on experience

Responsibilities Include:

  • Working as part of an installation team for solar PV systems.
  • Mechanical and structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical components.
  • Electrical wiring of solar systems (AC and DC).
  • Layout, assembly and mounting of solar modules and hardware on-site.
  • Pre-assembling components in the warehouse before deployment.
  • Good understanding and ensuring all projects follow Solar Impact and OSHA safety standards.
  • Communicating regularly with team members to ensure project efficiency and safety.
  • Reviewing installations post-completion for efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and inventory of company vehicles and warehouse.
  • Following all legal environmental, and safety regulations on and off-site.
  • Arriving on time and fully prepared to perform daily tasks.
  • Managing job responsibilities and time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Additional duties required as needed 


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years Solar Installer experience.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor.
  • Experience in bending and installing electrical conduit (EMT, RMC, PVC) for solar systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and construction drawings.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, pipe benders, and measuring equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the team and a commitment to respectful, customer-friendly service.
  • Capable of working safely on rooftops and in various weather conditions.
  • Competent in handling materials like panels, batteries, inverters, other electrical gear.
  • Good Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in using smartphone apps for job documentation and communication.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean and responsible driving record.
