Position Overview
The Day Support Lead is a supervisory-level position responsible for supporting the daily operations, staffing, and service delivery of Day Support Services in compliance with NCDHHS regulations and 3M’s Services LLC Policies and Procedures.
This role provides direct leadership to Day Support staff, supports community integration programming, and ensures individuals receive structured, person-centered services aligned with their Individual Support Plans (ISPs). The Day Support Lead works closely with the Director of Day Support Services to maintain operational excellence, staff engagement, and program quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Program Operations & Service Delivery
- Support daily operations of Day Support Services to ensure smooth, safe, and structured programming.
- Implement daily schedules, service plans, and structured activities aligned with Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
- Ensure consistent delivery of person-centered, community-based services.
- Monitor program flow, transitions, engagement, and safety throughout the day.
Community Integration & Activity Leadership
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading structured community outings and activities.
- Ensure activities promote independence, social development, skill-building, and meaningful engagement.
- Establish positive relationships with community partners to expand activity opportunities.
- Ensure all outings comply with agency safety protocols and transportation standards.
Staffing, Supervision & Team Engagement
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and direction to Day Support staff.
- Support staffing coordination, coverage, scheduling adjustments, and daily assignments.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and service excellence.
- Assist with onboarding, training reinforcement, and staff development initiatives.
- Support performance management through feedback, coaching, and corrective action in collaboration with leadership.
Compliance, Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Support accurate daily documentation and service records.
- Reinforce compliance with NCDHHS standards, service definitions, and internal policies.
- Assist leadership with quality assurance activities, audits, and corrective action planning.
- Identify operational or compliance risks and escalate appropriately.
Family & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with individuals served, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Support resolution of service concerns and promote positive relationships.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working directly with individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Day Support or community-based services, including:
- Community integration
- Activity planning and coordination
- Group programming
- Prior experience in a lead, senior DSP, mentor, or supervisory support role preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport individuals as required for community activities.

- In-office supervisory role with limited local travel.

- Must be able to work within structured schedules, manage staff coordination, and respond to program needs.
