Role Overview

You will help clients interpret emissions data across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 and translate findings into practical emissions-reduction strategies. Your work will include supporting greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and related analyses, as well as product carbon footprints (PCFs) and life cycle assessments (LCAs). You will also help clients organize and evaluate data to prepare for compliance with evolving product and packaging regulations, including the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements.

You will work with colleagues in Climate, Product and Packaging, and other service areas. Day to day, that means collecting and organizing client data, working in our inventory tools, checking results, and making technical findings clear and useful for project teams and clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

GHG Inventories & Climate Analysis

  • Develop and maintain GHG inventory work products, from activity-data collection and calculation inputs to assumptions, quality checks, and supporting documentation.
  • Help implement and use 3R’s inventory platform, reconciling its outputs against source data and project requirements.
  • Review datasets for gaps, inconsistent records, outliers, and shifts between reporting periods, and share data needs and findings with the project team.
  • Help interpret and present emissions results and related climate analysis, working alongside the project’s technical lead. Apply decarbonization skills to identify, evaluate, and prioritize emissions-reduction opportunities and support practical strategies across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.

Cross-Practice Sustainability & Product Data

  • Bring data analysis and technical support to LCA and product-related workstreams.
  • Support product carbon footprint projects by collecting and organizing data, tracking assumptions, and preparing analyses for technical review.
  • Work across Climate, Product and Packaging, and other consulting teams, adapting your quantitative work to different clients and services.
  • Look for ways to structure and reuse good data and methods across related engagements.

Data Quality & Practical Tools

  • Build traceable workbooks, clear documentation, and repeatable quality checks that make deliverables reliable.
  • Improve data-management approaches, templates, and analytical workflows to cut rework and make internal review easier.
  • Document analytical limits, open questions, and uncertainties clearly, and raise issues before client deliverables are finalized.
  • Explore practical ways to improve analysis and data workflows, including with AI tools, while checking accuracy and protecting client information.

Client Delivery & Team Contribution

  • Deliver quantitative analyses and client-ready work products within agreed scope, on schedule, and to our quality standards.
  • Explain data sources, methods, assumptions, findings, and limitations to colleagues and clients.
  • Contribute to technical scoping, knowledge sharing, and cross-practice work wherever strong data skills move client outcomes forward.
  • Manage several projects at once and take on other elated duties as needed.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong quantitative reasoning, with the ability to collect, clean, reconcile, analyze, and explain data from many different sources.
  • Hands-on experience preparing or supporting organizational GHG inventories and documenting emissions analyses.
  • The ability to build spreadsheets or other analytical workflows that a colleague can easily review, with clear assumptions and built-in quality checks.
  • Willingness to work across service types and to seek out subject matter input when you are in less familiar territory.
  • Proficiency with GHG inventory platforms and data-analysis tools, or the ability to learn them quickly. Experience with a specific platform is not required.
  • Good judgment in choosing and checking analytical tools, and real care in handling confidential client data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Education & Experience

  • At least three years of professional experience in GHG accounting, sustainability consulting, environmental data analysis, or other data-intensive work. We welcome candidates who bring different mixes of technical and consulting skills.
  • Relevant education or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: previous consulting experience exposure to PCFs, LCAs, and GHG inventory software.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and wellness benefits, with health insurance 100% employer-paid for employees.
  • 401(k) with immediate full vesting and a company match: 100% of the first 3% you contribute and 50% of the next 2%.
  • Four weeks of PTO, one week of sick time, three floating holidays, and a paid winter break.
  • Extensive professional development opportunities and paid volunteer time.
  • Training and shared learning resources to help you use AI and other emerging tools well, with care for accuracy, client confidentiality, and sustainability. These tools are part of how our team works day to day.

We work comfortably across time zones and ask team members to be available during our core collaboration hours where possible.
