Senior Solutions Architect, 5G NTN - Spacetime

Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer with expertise in 5G Non-Terrestrial Networking (5G NTN), you will work on the Spacetime software platform, which orchestrates the radio resource management, schedule of pointing and handovers for steerable directional antennas or laser terminals, as well as the control plane for networking functions for routing and switching (like any other software defined network controller) for aerospace & defense communication networks like non-geostationary satellite constellations. The ideal candidate should understand the 5G Core, O-RAN APIs, and OpenRAN architecture for service management & orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Spacetime platform using C++, Golang, Java, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers
  • Build a scalable and distributed system on Kubernetes
  • Design and develop software for the Spacetime platform to support 5G NTN
  • Collaborate with the Spacetime team to understand and implement requirements related to 5G NTN
  • Integrate with other components of the Aalyria platform to ensure end-to-end functionality
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the software design and implementation
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to 5G NTN and satellite communications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in the software

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Professional experience working in C++, Golang, and/or Java
  • Familiarity with wireless communications, modeling of wireless performance, and satellite communications
  • Knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers
  • Strong technical communication skills, and ability to communicate across multiple functions.
  • Experience working with customers/end-users answering questions and coming up with creative solutions
  • A strong desire to pitch and sell our amazing technology!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with wireless standards such as 3GPP
  • Hands on experience working with Kubernetes
  • Professional experience with performance optimization of distributed systems
  • Experience working in the aerospace & defense industry
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking platforms
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

The pay range for this role is:

180,000 - 215,000 USD per year (San Francisco Bay Area, CA)
