Position Overview:

The Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to GAAP standards, and the implementation of robust internal controls. Reporting directly to the CFO, this pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the financial foundation of the company during a period of rapid growth, ensuring scalability and long-term success.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in private equity-backed environments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and team development. Working closely with senior leadership, the Corporate Controller will drive financial strategy, deliver actionable insights, and cultivate a high-performing accounting team of 9+ members.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Manage the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to internal controls.
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, driving accuracy and optimization.
  • Direct the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors to ensure timely and clean results.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Provide financial leadership during acquisition due diligence, including analysis of financial statements, risk assessment, and quality-of-earnings (QoE) adjustments.
  • Oversee post-acquisition financial integration into NetSuite, ensuring alignment of accounting policies, systems, and processes.
  • Partner with the CFO to monitor and report on post-acquisition performance metrics.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, optimize financial performance, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and enhance controls as the company scales.

Strategic Financial Management

  • Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to develop financial strategies that align with growth objectives.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with detailed variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Support executive decision-making with data-driven insights and scenario modeling.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Provide clear priorities, deliverables, and proactive communication to drive team success.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the optimization of ERP systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in private equity-backed environments, M&A processes, and post-acquisition financial integration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience managing audits and working collaboratively with external auditors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale accounting functions in a high-growth organization (we have grown 5x in the last four years and continue to scale).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Public accounting background and experience managing offshore teams are strong pluses.
