About the role
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager will oversee daily operations for our disposition business warehouse in Miami, ensuring seamless inventory management, team leadership, and workflow optimization. With an Assistant Warehouse Manager reporting directly to this role, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for inventory control, process improvements, and fostering a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment. This role requires a hands-on leader committed to achieving operational targets and supporting company-wide objectives.
What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of inventory.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Warehouse Manager and warehouse team to ensure productivity and accuracy goals are met.
- Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive efficiency and maintain quality standards.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and control processes, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure minimal discrepancies.
- Conduct regular inventory management processes to ensure that we inventory is classified properly between owned and consigned inventory, and also ensure that we are not carrying excess inventory items that we cannot sell.
- Work closely with the operations team to monitor inventory levels, address variances, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Ensure proper handling and disposition of inventory according to AA Medical’s guidelines and quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the warehouse team, including onboarding, training, and performance management of warehouse staff and the Assistant Warehouse Manager.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the warehouse.
- Provide guidance and support to the Assistant Warehouse Manager to help them grow in their role and effectively manage warehouse operations in your absence.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting regular safety training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and AA Medical’s safety standards.
- Oversee the maintenance of equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse tools, ensuring they are in proper working order and meet safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Identify areas for operational improvements and drive initiatives to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as order accuracy, on-time shipments, and productivity rates, to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Utilize data and feedback to adjust processes, improve workflow, and address operational challenges proactively.
- Cross-collaboration with quality management and other site operations leaders to ensure standardized operations procedures and operational excellence.
- Support and assist corporate logistics management in communications with freight providers.
- Additional projects as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a proven track record in inventory management and process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and safety protocols.
- High level of experience with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) and familiarity with tracking and reporting tools for all operational functions.
- Professional level experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the medical devices industry strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to building a collaborative and high-performing team.
