About the role

The Shipping Associate at AA Medical plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the company's shipping processes. This position involves working collaboratively with various internal teams, including Receiving, Testing, Sales, and Acquisitions, to ensure accurate and timely shipment of refurbished medical devices to customers. The Shipping Associate is responsible for coordinating the shipping process, ensuring product quality, maintaining documentation, and facilitating effective communication between departments. 

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Acquisitions teams to understand the specific shipping requirements for each order. 
  • Coordinate with the Testing team to ensure that devices meet quality standards and are ready for shipment. 
  • Verify the accuracy of shipping orders, including product details, quantities, and destination addresses. 
  • Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure the safe transport of medical devices. 
  • Package devices securely, considering their size, fragility, and transportation mode. 
  • Apply accurate shipping labels, documentation, and any necessary customs forms.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records, including tracking numbers, shipping dates, and customer information. 
  • Complete and organize all necessary paperwork, such as packing slips, invoices, and shipping manifests. 
  • Communicate any discrepancies or issues to relevant teams to ensure swift resolution. 
  • Coordinate shipping schedules to meet customer deadlines and expectations. 
  • Collaborate with the Receiving team to ensure a smooth transition from testing to shipping. 
  • Utilize shipping software or systems to generate shipping labels, track packages, and update order statuses. 
  • Liaise between the Sales and Acquisitions teams to provide updates on order status, shipping delays, or any relevant issues. 
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding shipment tracking and delivery expectations. 
  • Perform visual inspections of packaged products to ensure they meet quality standards before shipping. 
  • Address any concerns related to product integrity, packaging, or labeling. 
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to maintain accurate inventory counts. 
  • Report any inventory discrepancies or shortages to supervisors. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or related field is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field, preferably within the medical device industry. 
  • Familiarity with shipping software and label generation tools. 
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams and customers. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Physical ability to lift and move packages of varying weights. 
  • Understanding of quality control processes and product inspection. 
  • RF Scanning experience
