About the role
- The Testing Associate at AA Medical plays a critical role in the quality assurance process by thoroughly testing used medical equipment to ensure it meets the company's standards for functionality, safety, and performance before being made available to customers. This position collaborates closely with Receiving, Inventory Management, and the Operations teams to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality refurbished medical devices. The Testing Associate is responsible for conducting rigorous testing procedures, documenting results, and contributing to the overall success of the company's operations.
What you'll do
- Thoroughly test used medical equipment according to established testing protocols and procedures.
- Inspect equipment for visual defects, damage, and wear and tear that might affect performance.
- Verify the proper functioning of equipment components, electrical systems, interfaces, and mechanical parts.
- Identify and diagnose issues or malfunctions, if present, and document them for further evaluation.
- Collaborate with the Receiving and Inventory Management teams to ensure accurate identification and tracking of tested items.
- Verify that the equipment meets the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate testing logs, records, and reports.
- Document testing procedures, results, and any identified issues for future reference and analysis.
- Communicate any identified issues, malfunctions, or defects to relevant teams for further evaluation and corrective action.
- Collaborate with the Receiving and Quality Control teams to address discrepancies between testing results and received items.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment and tools.
- Report any malfunctioning testing equipment and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs or replacements.
- Provide feedback and insights to the Operations team to improve testing processes and procedures.
- Suggest enhancements to testing protocols for improved accuracy and efficiency.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols when handling and testing medical equipment.
- Report any safety concerns or hazards to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in biomedical technology or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in testing, quality control, or a related field, preferably within the medical device industry.
- Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with medical equipment operation and testing procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and documenting results.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills to report testing results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of quality control processes and equipment maintenance.
