About the role
- Reporting to the Site Operations Director, the Warehouse Manager will oversee daily operations for our disposition business in Mokena IL, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, testing, kitting, and distribution of medical devices. This role also includes strategic oversight and collaboration with our other warehouse locations in Pittsburgh, Jessup, Elkin, Minnesota, and Miami. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for inventory control, process improvements, and fostering a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment. This role requires a hands-on leader committed to achieving operational targets and supporting company-wide objectives.
What you'll do
- Lead the Mokena Distribution Operations Team to ensure efficient and accurate operations, including receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
- Oversee the receiving, testing, warehousing, refurbishment, and distribution processes to maintain quality standards, efficient operations, and timely order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with the Acquisitions and Sales Operations Teams to ensure advanced operations and resource planning, as well as on time order fulfillment.
- Drive continuous process improvements and efficiency initiatives across the warehouse network.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate EHS standards and implement proactive safety measures to protect employees and products.
- Manage and develop Distribution Ops staff, providing regular operations huddles, training, and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and control processes, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure minimal discrepancies.
- Oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensure accurate data entry and inventory control.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Distribution operations, such as receiving timeliness, testing throughput, on-time shipments, order accuracy, and inventory accuracy and turns.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize space utilization, improve workflow, and reduce costs.
- Handle budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
- Perform performance reviews of all warehouse employees.
- Additional projects as assigned by the Site Operations Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a proven track record in inventory management and process optimization.
- Proven leadership experience in managing warehouse teams and driving operational excellence.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and safety protocols.
- High level of experience with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) and familiarity with tracking and reporting tools for all operational functions.
- Professional level experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and warehouse safety protocols.
- Experience in the medical devices industry strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to building a collaborative and high-performing team.
Bonus Skills
- Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Previous experience in managing multiple warehouse locations
