About the role

The AA Medical was founded by Ronald Plantz in 2010 with the vision of providing high-quality, refurbished medical equipment at unbeatable prices. The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shipping team, ensuring the timely and accurate packaging, labeling, and shipment of customer orders. This role involves managing the entire shipping process, from reviewing sales orders to ensuring that orders are picked, packed, and shipped efficiently according to company SOPs. The Shipping Lead will work closely with the sales team, warehouse staff, and carriers to ensure that all shipping activities comply with established procedures and safety guidelines. 

What you'll do

  • Lead the shipping team in processing sales orders ready for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines. 
  • Pull up sales orders in NetSuite and commence the picking, packing, and shipping process. 
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures, including appropriate packaging, labeling, and documentation. 
  • Manage the picking process, verifying that items picked match the sales orders in NetSuite. 
  • Oversee the preparation of shipping boxes or pallets depending on the shipping method (e.g., freight or parcel). 
  • Ensure accurate packaging, including proper carton sealing and labeling, and prepare freight shipments when necessary. 
  • Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure that orders are processed, picked, and packed accurately and on time. 
  • Communicate with the sales team regarding any issues, such as stock shortages or order discrepancies. 
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers or carriers to arrange timely pickups and deliveries. 
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and tracking numbers. 
  • Ensure that all shipping data is accurately entered into NetSuite, and discrepancies are promptly addressed. 
  • Track shipments and report any issues or delays to the Warehouse Manager and relevant stakeholders. 
  • Assist the warehouse team with inventory management tasks related to outgoing shipments, ensuring inventory levels in NetSuite are updated accordingly. 
  • Report any inventory discrepancies found during the shipping process to the Inventory Lead. 
  • Continuously evaluate shipping processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Ensure all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are followed by the shipping team. 
  • Train and coach shipping associates on shipping best practices and safety procedures as outlined in the SOP. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred. 
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations or shipping, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role. 
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and warehouse management systems. 
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across teams. 
  • Experience in the medical device or e-commerce industry. 
  • Familiarity with logistics and transportation coordination, including international shipping.
