The Role

Acceleration Academies is currently seeking two (2) individuals, who are highly proficient in high school asynchronous English/Language Arts (ELA) course development, to join a team of subject matter and curriculum experts in the creation of an online Advanced Placement Literature and Composition course. This course will be designed to match our client specifications and will be used in an asynchronous learning environment. This project will begin in July 2025 and will end in June 2026.


Key Responsibilities

  • Write thoughtful, engaging, and easy-to-understand asynchronous Advanced Placement Literature and Composition lessons that align to the College Board Course and Exam description and client specifications
  • Write the text for student interactives and other multimedia content used in instructional contexts
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members about progress, deadlines, challenges, and solutions
  • Respond constructively and adapt readily to suggestions, client feedback, and editing requirements 
  • Follow plans and specifications for all assigned projects, including meeting deadlines and coordinating with other project workers and adjusting work based on project needs/priorities
  • Write formative and summative assessments and rubrics aligned to lessons and units


What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or directly related field

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience with Advanced Placement Literature and Composition curriculum alignment and course development and 3+ years of experience as a College Board Advanced Placement Literature and Composition Reader and/or Table Lead

Compensation: Up to $1000/lesson (50-60 lessons)

License/Certification: Currently holds an educator’s license in 6-12 ELA in any state

Strong writing skills:

  • Ability to clearly present ELA content at an advanced placement level in many different forms, including written explanations
  • Experience across digital curriculum systems, including common learning management systems, interactive tools as well as the use of AI
  • Skilled with Google Apps and willing to learn additional technology tools adopted to align to the client specifications
  • Solid understanding of online learning considerations and educational technology
  • Excellent listening, observation, reading, verbal, nonverbal, and writing skills
  • Superior time-management, organizational skills, and accurate record keeping
  • Uphold policies and follow team guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
