Human Resources Generalist II

Note: This is a full-time in office role. Candidates must be located in the DC/Falls Church Area

We're seeking an enthusiastic, dependable Human Resources Generalist with top-notch organizational skills and a knack for multitasking. This position calls for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at communication, pays attention to all of the details, and embodies professionalism. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with various departments and individuals, serving as a key point of contact and facilitating the overall function of the organization. 


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, QLE changes, and responding to employee inquiries. 
  • Support performance review cycles by coordinating timelines, tracking progress, and updating systems. 
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local & federal laws and regulations, including federal contractor requirements. 
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data. 
  • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives to enhance skills and promote career growth. 
  • Coordinate and execute end to end onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and departing employees. 
  • Handle employment verifications and support investigation requests related to security clearance activities, ensuring accuracy and timely response. 
  • Conduct HR-related research and analysis to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and initiatives. 
  • Help new employees integrate into the organization by facilitating orientation programs and ensuring a smooth onboarding process. 
  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and workplace culture. 
  • Other duties as assigned 


Required Experience 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources roles with a focus on employee relations and HR administration. 
  • Experience supporting HR compliance in the defense sector, including adherence to federal contracting requirements and security clearance protocols. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEO. 
  • Experience managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. 
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance  

 

Work Environment & Remote Meeting Expectations: Our work environment operates on a remote/hybrid model, balancing flexibility with the need for in-person collaboration. Employees are expected to work in-office on designated days to foster engagement with the team. Outside of these days, employees may telework with supervisor approval, provided they adhere to communication protocols and effectively fulfill their work responsibilities. Travel may be required to customer and subcontractor sites, as well as other office locations.


For those in remote roles, active participation in video meetings is an essential part of job responsibilities. Employees must maintain a professional presence on camera, ensure a stable internet connection, and engage in discussions as needed. Video meetings play a crucial role in team collaboration, alignment, and effective communication across distributed teams. The pay range for this role is:

62,500 - 83,900 USD per year (SIE - Falls Church, VA)
