This role is part of our SoarTech division, which focuses on data and AI, autonomy software, and advanced simulation and training systems. SoarTech has decades of experience in AI research, including major DARPA autonomy programs, and develops explainable, adaptive technologies that enhance human judgment and accelerate mission readiness.  


We are seeking a skilled Unity Developer with a strong background in interactive multimedia design to support the development of immersive, user-centered applications. This role focuses on building high-quality interactive experiences leveraging Unity for training, simulation, visualization, and multimedia-rich applications. The ideal candidate blends technical proficiency with design sensibility and can collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive applications using the Unity engine.
  • Implement engaging multimedia experiences incorporating 3D assets, animation, audio, video, and user interaction.
  • Collaborate with designers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional interactive solutions.
  • Optimize performance, usability, and visual fidelity across target platforms (desktop, mobile, web, XR, as applicable).
  • Integrate UI/UX designs, ensuring intuitive navigation and user engagement.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing Unity applications.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, version control, and development best practices.
  • Stay current with Unity updates, industry trends, and emerging interactive technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Interactive Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing applications in Unity.
  • Proficiency in C# and Unity scripting.
  • Experience with interactive multimedia elements, including animation, audio, video, and UI systems.
  • Strong understanding of 3D environments, physics, lighting, and asset pipelines.
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional development teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience with training, simulation, serious games, or instructional media.
  • Familiarity with XR development (VR/AR/MR) using Unity.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX principles and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Exposure to government, defense, or enterprise-scale development environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Clearance Requirements 

Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
