Job Overview

Accruity is seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Senior Manager to lead our accounting team and serve as the primary engagement leader for our real estate investment clients. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality financial reporting, fostering team development, and maintaining strong client relationships. You will oversee Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and bookkeepers while driving process improvements and ensuring consistent adherence to GAAP and company standards.

What you'll do

From managing engagement teams to delivering client reporting, this role is central to our client accounting operations. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Serve as the primary engagement leader for assigned clients, managing communications, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and bookkeepers to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting for multiple client accounts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across workflows, handoffs, and documentation.
  • Review and approve reporting packages, analyses, and client presentations to ensure accuracy and quality.

Problems we need help with

This role exists because there’s real work to do. We’re not just looking to fill a seat — we need someone who can help us tackle challenges like:

  • Balancing increasing client volume with sustainable team bandwidth
  • Strengthening client communication touchpoints throughout each engagement
  • Bringing more structure and accountability to internal handoffs
  • Supporting a growing team with better documentation and workflow standardization

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including client-facing roles
  • Prior management or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERPs (QuickBooks Online, AppFolio, or similar)
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset and a drive to improve processes, workflows, and client experiences
  • Excellent communication and professional client management skills

Bonus Points If

  • Experience in real estate accounting or high-growth/startup environments
  • Familiarity with real estate-specific software or systems
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMCP
