What you'll do

  • Develop mechanical components such as frames, drives, pulleys, idlers, and tensioning systems using CAD tools.
  • Customize solutions based on client specifications, load requirements, and environmental conditions.
  • Select appropriate materials and components for durability and performance.
  • Perform FEA simulations to validate design integrity under dynamic and static loads.
  • Conduct load calculations, torque analysis, and structural assessments.
  • Oversee prototype fabrication and coordinate in-house or field testing.
  • Analyze test results and iterate designs to meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Manage design projects from concept through production.
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered as a substitute for education.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
  • Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc).
  • Configure and customize PLM/PDM tools to meet business requirements
  • ERP/MRP software proficiency (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Knowledge of drive systems (motors, gearboxes, VFDs), bearings, and structural steel design.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, sheet metal fabrication, and machining.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Windows operating system environment with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Project etc.)
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Willingness to travel for troubleshooting related activities.
