About the role


Are you excited by the challenge of programming control systems and hardware to innovate, commission, and maintain autonomous equipment in industrial environments? As a Lifecycle Services Integration Engineer, you'll commission and maintain mechatronic materials handling equipment in large distribution hubs, troubleshoot and update control systems remotely, ensuring product longevity and efficiency.


What you'll do


Technical Skills:

  • Answer customer calls as part of a 24/7 rotating on-call team.
  • Troubleshoot issues for mechatronic materials handling systems and automation.
  • Tune machine control software (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Keyence, etc.).
  • Expert-level PLC programming (Rockwell required; Siemens, Schneider, etc.).
  • Intermediate HMI programming (FactoryTalk View, FT Optix, Ignition, Wonderware, Indusoft).
  • Design interfaces for network I/O, VFDs, servos, and ID systems.
  • Understand electrical hardware and control devices.
  • Read mechanical and electrical layout drawings in AutoCAD and 3D software.
  • Prepare detailed PLC programs and test procedures.
  • Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration activities.
  • Field commissioning and testing of projects.
  • Customize standard products to meet project requirements.
  • Configure interfaces to WCS, WES, or other host software systems.
  • Continuously improve development processes.
  • Familiarity with distributed controls solutions networks (Ethernet IP, ProfiNet, Sercos, IO link).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and industrial communication networks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Windows OS.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Copia is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, mechatronics, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to be on call after hours on a rotating basis.
  • 5+ years' experience in controls engineering or R&D controls development.
  • Post and parcel experience required; distribution & freight, e-commerce, and/or airport & baggage experience is a plus.
