About the role

  • The Product Development Leader will spearhead the creation and successful commercialization of innovative products that align with Aegis’ annual priorities and long-term goals (BHAG). This role oversees a cross-functional engineering team—including electrical, controls, software, and mechanical disciplines—while navigating the Agile Stage Gate process. You will ensure all products are developed as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) solutions and seamlessly integrated into customer systems. Responsibilities include managing intellectual property strategies, maintaining resource-loaded schedules, and tracking progress against stage gate milestones. Collaboration across all functions is critical to successful commercialization, and every initiative must harmonize with the company’s innovation strategy and the voice of the customer.

What you'll do

  • Lead cross-functional product development teams to deliver new products from ideation to commercialization.
  • Apply Agile Stage Gate methodology to manage product launches and ensure timely execution of milestones.
  • Oversee integration of OEM products into customer systems.
  • Develop and execute intellectual property strategies for new product initiatives.
  • Plan and schedule resources, tracking progress against stage gate milestones.
  • Engage stakeholders and align teams with innovation strategy and customer needs.
  • Maintain high standards of product design, performance, and system requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the R&D team.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years’ experience developing and launching products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional product development teams.
  • Expertise in Agile Stage Gate methodology.
  • Strong foundation in robotics, electrical, controls, software, and mechanical engineering.
  • Experience managing intellectual property strategies.
  • Proven ability to plan and schedule resources effectively.
  • Experience integrating OEM products into customer systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
