About the role
The Site Supervisor works closely with the Project Manager, providing and maintaining all aspects necessary to promote the on time and accurate installation and completion Material Handling Systems. This position will be the primary on-site leader from Aegis Sortation to progress the project and support the client.
What you'll do
- Coordinate with Project Manager, while working with the customer, general contractor, and surrounding trades to ensure the project schedule is met.
- Attend required meetings with internal and external stakeholders and provide input as needed to assist in various trade coordination efforts.
- Keep updated and accurate logs of daily work efforts and track any delays reported on the subcontractor’s daily reports.
- Maintain a proactive approach by supplying an accurate 4-week look-ahead plan for the Project Manager and identifying any roadblocks or material shortages.
- Manage manpower by scheduling hours.
- Maintaining an accurate inventory on site of conveyor material, consumables, and tool inventory.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries and assist with scheduling equipment to meet install sequence and milestone dates.
- Ensure that all applicable paperwork is turned in on time and accurately completed.
- Work closely with site employees and subcontractor personnel to maintain a positive and productive environment.
- Monitor site’s Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) and overall site safety.
- During commissioning and testing phase, coordinate laborers and assist with all aspects of testing and training.
- Answer day to day questions/issues from the sub-contractors.
- Coordinate and resolve any field discrepancies/issues with the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
- Verify site conditions as needed and relay any interference or clashes with existing or future equipment/utilities to Project Manager.
- Enforce/adherence to all company processes, policies, and procedures.
- Enforce and adhere to all company and customer safety policies and procedures to maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- Provide product feedback to Project Manager by submitting issues, suggestions on field discrepancy reports by maintaining good working relationships.
- Utilizes the time keeping system for accurate payroll records. Ensure input is into payroll on a weekly basis by the payroll deadline for on-site employees and timesheets are reviewed and approved.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to Project budget and schedule.
- Demonstrates a fully functional interaction with the customer and ability to handle the labor environment, union or local.
- Comprehend and adhere to the design specifications and any site-specific requirements.
- Identify out of scope items for change orders.
- Submit weekly reports including tracking tool updates, schedule updates, site photos and material receiving paperwork, conveyor audits, discrepancy reports, etc.
- Extensive travel required (75% -100%)

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical conveyor installation or equal trade skillset
- Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints
- Ability to lead teams (foreman, welders, fitters, etc) to construct conveyors, platforms, etc.
- Strong organizational, project management and communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and other digital technology required
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD preferred
- 30-hour OSHA Certification
- Basic First Aid/CPR Certification
- Forklift and Scissor Lift/Boom Lift experience
