Job Summary
As an IoT Core IP Ops Engineer, you will be an integral part of our team responsible for the creation and maintenance of solutions within the Core Network and Connectivity landscape. You will play a key role in the development and maintenance lifecycles of Aeris systems, focusing on ensuring the accurate and efficient engineering of software-based information systems. Your expertise will support the design, planning, deployment, and lifecycle management of critical Core IP elements. This role requires weekly onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Life Cycle Management: Oversee the Life Cycle Management of our Core IP elements, ensuring they are operating at peak performance throughout their lifecycle; execute system upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning as part of regular life cycle management activities;
- 3rd Level Support: Provide advanced (3rd level) troubleshooting support, Incident Resolution and Service restauration within agreed SLA for the Incidents that reach 3rd Level from 2nd Level support. On-Call (24 *7) support via rotation mechanism within department for high and critical incident support towards L2 teams;
- Platform Ownership: Monitor and report on platform Capacity; determine need for platform upgrades and patches; define and enforce platform access control; analyze platform related trends and recommend technology changes or improvements;
- Feature Implementation support: support the design and plan for the implementation of new features and solutions, ensuring the timely delivery and staying within budget constraints;
- Acceptance Testing and Handover: Prepare and/or participate in acceptance tests for new features and successfully hand them over to the IoT Network Operations Center (NOC) team;
- End-to-End Core IP Network Management: Be part of the complete lifecycle of the Core Network, from design and planning to deployment and integration.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed education (University degree) in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred;
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in the Telecom Core Network domain with strong exposure to core network components;
- Very good understanding of IP transport architectures (Metro Ethernet, MPLS, SR, Core Network);
- Hands on experience with VPN Services, Layer 2 Ethernet services, Enterprise Network & Firewalling, Routers, Switches, and Load Balancers;
- Experience in designing and using solutions that involve multiple protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS);
- Analytical technical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities;
- Perseverance and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and documenting technical solutions;
- Ability to react quickly in a fast-paced environment and provide clear, effective support;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;
- Availability to work On-Call (24 *7) support via rotation mechanism within department;
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
Preferred Requirements:
- Understanding of public and private cloud architecture and implementation is a plus;
- Juniper Networks Certified or equivalent is recommended, as is experience with both Cisco & Juniper Service Provider & Enterprise level equipment;
- Good Understanding of telco Packet Core principles and nodes (PGW, PCRF, DNS, AAA) is a big plus;
- Good knowledge of Linux, Google Cloud, and OpenStack, Kubernetes is a plus;
- A passion for advising, assisting, and developing others, with a professional and tactful approach.
