Job Summary
As an IoT Core PS Ops Engineer, you will be an integral part of our team responsible for the creation and maintenance of solutions within the Core Network and Connectivity landscape. You will play a key role in the development and maintenance lifecycles of Aeris systems, focusing on ensuring the accurate and efficient engineering of software-based information systems. Your expertise will support the design, planning, deployment, and lifecycle management of critical Core PS elements.
The role reports to our Global Head of Network Operations, Engineering, has no subordinates and collaborates with our 2nd Level Support team, Customer Support Manager, vendors and clients' technical teams.
Other requirements related to the job: 24*7 support (On-call 2 weeks/month), 10% possible travel requirements.
Work mode: Hybrid with 2 days / week on-site from our Grozavesti office.
Key Responsibilities
- Life Cycle Management: Oversee the Life Cycle Management of our Core PS elements, ensuring they are operating at peak performance throughout their lifecycle; execute system upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning as part of regular life cycle management activities;
- 3rd Level Support: Provide advanced (3rd level) troubleshooting support, Incident Resolution and Service restauration within agreed SLA for the Incidents that reach 3rd Level from 2nd Level support. On-Call (24 *7) support via rotation mechanism within department for high and critical incident support towards L2 teams;
- Platform Ownership: Monitor and report on platform Capacity; determine need for platform upgrades and patches; define and enforce platform access control; analyze platform related trends and recommend technology changes or improvements;
- Feature Implementation support: support the design and plan for the implementation of new features and solutions, ensuring the timely delivery and staying within budget constraints;
- Acceptance Testing and Handover: Prepare and/or participate in acceptance tests for new features and successfully hand them over to the IoT Network Operations Center (NOC) team;
- End-to-End Core PS Network Management: Be part of the complete lifecycle of the Core Network, from design and planning to deployment and integration;
- AI Assisted Operations: Embed LLM tools into daily engineering workflows – log analysis, anomaly correlation, troubleshooting, change summarization and champion AI adoption;
- AI Agent Development: Design, build, and maintain AI agents that can remove toil from the work flows, using LLMs and GitHub Copilot.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven capabilities in systems managed services, including management of issues of interconnection, communication, etc;
- Candidate should be an expert in Mobile Telecom including deep understanding of telecom core networks;
- Strong knowledge of Core telecom networks, especially Packet Switched and IP domains is a plus;
- Hands-on experience with Ericsson SGSN-MME, GGSN, SGW/PGW, Mavenir or other equivalents solutions;
- Proven troubleshooting across 4G EPC and 5G Core interfaces;
- Evidence of managing software upgrade projects or New Nodes Integration projects executed on the Packet Core side is a plus;
- Good Understanding of Packet Core surrounding Nodes (PCRF, AAA, DNS);
- Good understanding of Diameter Interfaces & Error Codes is a plus;
- Experience in using various Network Tools & ability to analyze traces;
- Good knowledge of 5G Core (NSA/SA);
- Good knowledge of Ericsson CEE solution or similar hands-on Virtualization enabling CNF/VNF functions is a plus;
- Advanced troubleshooting skills on relevant platforms;
- Knowledge of IP Protocols is a plus in the context of PGW;
- Experience with AI/LLM APIs (Antrophic, OpenAI, or equivalent);
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or AI-Assisted coding workflows is a plus (with GitHub Project reference);
- Experience with AI assisted workflows and tools is a plus;
- Programmatic mindset with evidences on software development or Scripting (e.g. Python or Bash) for operational automation;
- A minimum of five years working experience in relevant technology.
