The Swat Technician will be the tip of the spear, kicking off new construction jobs with contractors, supervising WiFi and network hardware installations, conducting pre-deployment site surveys, activating networks, and providing emergency field support when needed. You will collaborate with Construction Managers, Engineering, and third-party vendors to ensure successful installations from start to finish.
This is a dynamic role ideal for a technician with a broad skill set in structured cabling, wireless networking, troubleshooting, and contractor supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Perform site walks to evaluate existing conditions and infrastructure readiness.
· Document findings and share with engineering and project management teams.
· Recommend installation strategies and highlight any field-level risks or obstacles.
· Oversee on-site structured cabling, fiber, WiFi, and network hardware installations.
· Conduct quality control checks and provide in-field troubleshooting.
· Serve as Aerwave’s on-site technical lead, bridging the gap between contractors, engineering, and PMs.
· Coordinate with engineering for final network activation and testing.
· Validate successful device connectivity, signal coverage, and backhaul performance.
· Identify and escalate issues requiring deeper technical investigation.
· Respond to emergency field service requests and outages.
· Diagnose and repair network hardware or low-voltage infrastructure issues.
· Communicate findings and resolution paths to internal stakeholders.
· Submit detailed daily field reports, including photos, test results, and project status updates.
· Maintain and track inventory of hardware deployed or delivered on-site.
· Assist in punch-list creation and closeout documentation.
· Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
· Must maintain a positive attitude and show adaptability to change.
· Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
