Affinity Consulting Group

Document Management Consultant

At Affinity Consulting Group we help law firms transform:

  • Their business through tailored strategic consulting and implementation services.
  • Their work with new or improved technology, systems, and processes.
  • Their team by training on essential business tools and skills.

Are you our next Enterprise Document Management Consultant?

You’ve worked inside, or closely with, law firms or legal departments. You’ve seen the chaos that happens when documents live everywhere and nowhere. And you’ve helped legal teams bring order to that chaos by implementing and supporting systems like NetDocuments or iManage—building better workflows, training users, and configuring the integrations that make it all work together.

You’re not just a builder or a talker, you’re both. You can design a smart configuration, explain it clearly to a client, and see it through to a clean, confident go-live. Whether you’re in a working session, a training call, or a roadmap discussion, you know how to connect what a firm needs with how their system needs to work.  You also know how to translate business needs into system solutions and drive adoption without overwhelming your audience.

At Affinity Consulting, we’re hiring a Document Management Consultant to join our Enterprise Consulting Team and help legal organizations modernize how they manage documents. From end-to-end implementations to long-term support, you’ll play a key role in helping clients improve how they store, access, and use their information while ensuring they feel guided and empowered every step of the way.

This isn’t a back-office support role. It’s a hands-on, client-facing position for someone who knows how to execute with precision, communicate with clarity, and bring both strategic insight and deep platform expertise to every engagement.

This is a rare opportunity to:

  • Lead implementation work that transforms how legal teams operate
  • Design and execute solutions in complex client environments
  • Build long-term relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Work with a team of smart, kind humans doing meaningful work

What you would do, (unofficially).

You’ll be the person clients rely on to make their document system run smoothly, not just the tool itself, but how it works with everything else they use. You’ll help set up and fine-tune the system, connect it with other everyday tools, and guide clients through launch and adoption. You’ll balance both the technical setup and the human side of change, turning client needs into practical solutions, explaining things in clear, simple terms, and stepping in with support if something doesn’t go as planned. Whether leading a project or supporting long-term relationships, you’ll be the steady, clear, and reliable partner clients can count on.

What you would do, (officially).

As a Document Management Consultant, you’ll implement and support legal document management systems for law firms and legal departments. You’ll guide clients through discovery, design solutions, set up tailored solutions, train users, and coordinate with team members supporting data moves and system updates to deliver reliable, well-integrated solutions to clients. You’ll also manage client relationships through support engagements, roadmap planning, and enhancement projects, serving as a key point of contact for system improvements, user support, and long-term success. You’ll contribute to internal tools and best practices and collaborate closely with peers to improve how we deliver work across the team.

Your responsibilities.

  • Guide law firms and legal teams through the implementation of document management systems like NetDocuments and iManage
  • Configure document management systems based on client workflows, including setting up add-ins and integrations to support seamless, connected work environments.
  • Lead or support discovery sessions to understand client goals and translate them into clear, actionable system designs
  • Collaborate with teammates and vendor partners on system setup, data migration, testing, and go-live readiness
  • Deliver live and remote training sessions and create clear user guides to support adoption and reduce support volume
  • Provide hands-on support during go-live and ongoing roadmap planning post-launch
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by building long-term relationships and anticipating system improvement needs
  • Contribute to internal tools, delivery processes, and reusable assets to help the team scale and improve

What we're looking for.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with NetDocuments or iManage (required)
  • Direct experience setting up DMS platforms for legal teams
  • Comfort working with integrations and add-ons
  • Confidence leading client discovery, best practices, and solution framing
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to scope, track, and deliver your own work.
  • Experience training end-users and creating clear, effective user documentation
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset and clear communication style
  • Ability to build trust with clients and internal stakeholders

Bonus points if you bring.

  • Knowledge of information governance and experience with information governance tools such as iCompli or FileTrail
  • Familiarity with WalkMe, BA Insight, SharePoint, Prosperoware CAM, or ServiceNow
  • Consulting experience or previous client-facing roles in legal tech
  • Experience working in or consulting for large law firms or corporate legal departments
  • Comfort managing roadmap planning, enhancement work, and long-term support/client relationship management
