About the role

As AgelessRx's Vice President of Research and Applied Science, you will be responsible for overseeing research, development, and application of rigorous scientific principles to advance AgelessRx’s mission. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including Chief Medical Officer, Operations, Product, and Marketing to identify potential therapies for study, support innovative strategy, and lead translational research. Additionally, the VP of Research and Applied Science plays a critical role in shaping the company’s scientific direction through partnership identification, clinical effectiveness recommendations, and leading clinical trial decision-making, while managing a team of high performing contributors.


What you'll do

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Applied Science department in alignment with company objectives and long-term vision. 

  • Identify therapies for study and support scientific requirements for product commercialization in partnership with Chief Medical Officer.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including cross functional colleagues, partners, regulatory bodies, longevity thought leaders, and other external entities. 

  • Ensure that the department operates within legal and regulatory frameworks, overseeing risk management strategies and compliance initiatives. 

  • Develop and communicate long-term departmental roadmaps and strategy, ensuring they align with overall company goals. 

  • Track established performance against OKRs and provide feedback and guidance for improvement. 

  • Identify and evaluate strategic partnership opportunities, oversee negotiations, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. 

  • Understand clinical development operations, scientific trial objectives, and best practices to evaluate clinical study components against objectives, resources, and quality parameters. 

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years experience in research management and program building. 

  • Experience in drug discovery and development, cellular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, and systems physiology a plus. 

  • Demonstrates the ability to gather, condense, analyze, and synthesize information into actionable insights that positively impact human health outcomes. 

  • Demonstrated history of excellence and recognition within the scientific community through publications, grants, awards, and other achievements. 

  • Exhibits an understanding of the interplay between data, technology, and product partnerships. Proficient in devising innovative metrics to assess technologies, vendor capabilities, and requirements effectively. 

  • Deep expertise in translational medicine with a focus on human clinical applications. 

  • Highly motivated to foster the scientific success of team members and collaborators, prioritizing positive health outcomes for patients. 

  • Capable of building and maintaining trust and credibility within diverse teams, even in challenging situations. Skilled at fostering rapport with both technical and non-technical team members. 

  • Enthusiasm in Longevity Medicine is a must, experience in the field is a big plus.
