As a Finance Operations Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting critical finance workflows, including global payroll coordination, labor cost and commission analysis, employee compensation, and month-end client billing. You’ll collaborate closely with the Finance and HR teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure operational accuracy, timely execution, and continuous improvements across multiple financial platforms and processes.

What you'll do

Core Responsibilities: 


Payroll & Compensation Operations 

  • Coordinate timely and accurate payroll processing across multiple regions in collaboration with HR and third-party vendors. 
  • Maintain employee compensation data, including monthly stipends, bonus schedules, and non-salary compensation. 
  • Support compliance with local, state, and international payroll requirements. 

Labor & Commission Analysis 

  • Assist with labor cost reporting and analysis. 
  • Support monthly commission calculation and reconciliation for applicable teams. 

Employee Reimbursements & Benefits 

  • Review and process employee reimbursements and stipends via platforms such as Expensify, Rippling Spend, Navan, and Compt. 
  • Monitor policy compliance and data accuracy across reimbursement tools. 

Month-End Billing 

  • Assist in preparing and processing global client billing during the month-end close. 
  • Help ensure billing accuracy by validating contract terms and revenue data. 
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and support process improvements. 

Stock Compensation Support 

  • Partner with HR to manage and reconcile stock compensation records and report in related payroll. 

Systems & Data Management 

  • Maintain accurate financial and employee data across platforms such as Rippling, Sequoia, Sage Intacct, and Salesforce. 
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of compensation and billing data across systems. 

Audit & Compliance 

  • Prepare documentation and respond to audit requests related to payroll, compensation, and billing. 
  • Assist with internal control reviews and regulatory reporting. 

Process Improvement & Projects 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and support automation initiatives. 
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and provide ad-hoc analytical support as needed. the

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, and Competencies: 

  • 1–3 years of experience in finance, payroll, or financial operations, ideally within a high-growth or global organization. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, billing cycles, and labor cost analysis. 
  • Proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced formulas). 
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, reliable output according to deadlines. 
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones and communicate effectively with global teams. 
  • Flexibility to support month-end close and payroll cycles, including occasional after-hours work. 

 

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience with international payroll operations or global billing practices. 
  • Familiarity with systems like Rippling, Sequoia, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, or other HRIS/ERP platforms. 
  • Proficiency in Chinese (spoken and written) is a plus. 
  • Exposure to commission structures or variable compensation planning. 
  • Must be located within commuting distance to New York, NY, or Denver, CO to be considered for the role.

 Salary may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

The pay range for this role is:

60,000 - 85,000 USD per year (New York)

60,000 - 85,000 USD per year (Denver, Colorado)
