About Al Warren Oil

With a strong commitment to compliance, financial integrity, and operational efficiency, we are seeking a Summer 2025 Audit Intern to work closely with our company controller. This internship provides hands-on experience in financial auditing, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within the fuel distribution industry.

Location: Chicago, IL (In-Person)
Duration: Summer 2025 (Full-Time, 10-12 weeks)
Who We’re Looking For: Junior-level students going into their senior year in Fall 2025

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
• Review financial statements, transactions, and expense reports for accuracy
• Support the accounts payable and receivable audit process
• Help prepare audit documentation and financial reports for management review
• Identify and suggest improvements to financial controls and procedures
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other financial regulations
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling financial data

Qualifications

• Currently a junior pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools is a plus
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and audit procedures
