About the role

As a Financial Manager at Alaan, you will oversee and manage our recurring accounting processes, including end-of-month and payroll activities. The ideal applicant will support external partners in maintaining accurate accounting records across multiple entities and own the controlling processes to provide clear visibility into business performance. In this role, you will drive forecasting efforts by engaging with various teams to understand their budgetary needs and manage cash flow requirements. You will also collaborate closely with our Tech team to enhance our product, leveraging your insights as a target user.


What you'll do

  • Own and manage the recurring Accounting processes, including end of month or payroll 
  • Support external partners in keeping accurate accounting records for multiple entities
  • Own the Controlling processes to ensure accurate visibility on business performance
  • Drive forecasting by engaging with different teams to understand their budget needs
  • Manage cash flows needs 
  • Collaborate with our Tech team to enhance our product (you are a target user)
  • Scale processes, make suggestions, drive improvements
  • Manage the day-to-day of Finance and act as a sparring partner for the function Head

What we are looking for

  • 5 to 8 years of accounting experience in a Big Four or fast-paced startup environment
  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and have completed your accounting qualification
  • Passion, drive and great communication skills
  • You have experience with ERP systems, you’re familiar with IFRS; Xero or Zero Books/Payroll are a plus
  • A quantitative and analytical mindset and know how to use data as the basis of your decisions
  • You don’t shy away from a challenge and are able to perform in a fast-paced and continuously changing work environment
  • You’re pro-active, ambitious, and make things happen - This is a hands-on role
  • Fluent in English
