About the role

At Alaan, we’re building the modern financial stack for MENA and scaling our presence globally. As part of this journey, we’re looking for a Research Writer to transform complex ideas and data into compelling, insightful narratives. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our product and marketing teams, engage with customers and partners to extract qualitative insights, and craft research-driven content that shapes conversations around fintech, compliance, AI, and innovation across the region.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with a background in research, journalism, or strategy consulting who enjoys turning data into impactful stories. You’ll work on everything from long-form research reports to executive summaries and social snippets, helping establish Alaan as a thought leader in the fintech space.

What you'll do

  • Lead the creation of research-based content
  • Conduct interviews with customers and partners to extract qualitative insights
  • Partner with the marketing and product teams to understand research priorities and translate findings into high-impact written material
  • Write long-form research narratives and convert them into executive summaries, carousels, and social snippets
  • Validate data and research sources, ensuring factual accuracy and proper citations
  • Track trends and innovations in finance, AI, compliance, and fintech across MENA

What we are looking for

  • A background in research, business writing, journalism, or strategy consulting
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills with the ability to turn dry data into compelling narratives
  • Strong critical thinking and a high standard for accuracy
  • Experience working with data (survey tools, spreadsheets, dashboards, or product usage analytics)
  • Comfortable managing multiple research projects and long-form writing timelines
  • Experienced in writing & research for fintech, SaaS, or B2B companies
