Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform as overall lead, manager and administrator for the contracted effort in support of aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Serve as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical and program/project issues.
  • Oversee Contractor personnel program/project operations by developing procedures, planning and directing execution of the technical, programming, maintenance and administrative support effort and monitoring and reporting progress
  • Responsible for recruitment of new hires and termination of employees either for cause or routine release
  • Screen all employee candidates to ensure adequate qualifications are met before offers are extended.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Overall supervisor for aircraft maintenance team.

Required Experience/Abilities:

  • This person must have strong electrical, hydraulic and mechanical aircraft knowledge, including personal knowledge of computers. This position requires extensive knowledge of the NAVAIRINST 3710.1G and CNAFINST 4790.2.
  • This individual must have a strong mechanical aptitude in order to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas.
  • The person must be knowledgeable of basic supply procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large and diverse teams and the ability to effectively provide guidance, direction, and supervision in all areas of the contracted effort, that include responsibility for assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in the aviation maintenance field. At least six (6) years’ experience in a management/supervisory position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or 21 years total aviation maintenance experience.

Physical Demands:

This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in an indoor workshop environment. Activities may include climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 lbs.


Work Environment:

The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.

The pay for this role is:

$90,000 - $120,000 annual salary plus benefits (New River MCAS, NC)
