We are looking for an experienced CNC machine operator and entry level machinist to be a part of our growing business. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy of our production runs by setting up 3, 4 5 axis mills, pre-programming, and monitoring runs. Successful employees are thorough and hard-working, demonstrate a strong working knowledge of CNC machinery operations, and prove a commitment to quality and safety.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, Assess, modify, and repair machined parts, tooling, fixtures or assemblies from blueprints, sketches and engineering drawings using various types of hardened and non-hardened steels, stainless steels, aluminum and other exotic materials.
  • Program and use computer aided design systems and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) equipment to complete parts or assemblies.
  • Be able and competent to interface with engineers, scientists, and mechanics to provide design inputs. 
  • Program, set up and operate all shop equipment including manual and CNC milling machines upright and horizontal, CNC lathes, grinders, Electronic Discharge Machine (EDM), water jet machines and other pieces of equipment to fabricate Research and Development (R&D) or experimental aircraft parts and tools.
  • Perform routine/periodic maintenance of tools and equipment for the Machine Shop.
  • Adhere and comply with Heritage Aviation policies and regulations.
  • Use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
  • Monitor and maintain quality throughout production runs.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other Machinist related duties as required.

 

Requirements:

         Demonstrated experience and knowledge of programming, machining tools operations

         Able to interpret, make recommendations and corrections to blueprints 

         Able to adhere to safety equipment and standards

         Valid Driver’s License

         Proficient in reading, writing and speaking the English language

         High School Diploma or higher

         Minimum of ten (10) or more years’ experience in Machine shop fabrication

Physical Demands:
This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in an indoor workshop environment.  Activities may include climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 lbs.  Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision, and acceptable depth perception.
