Department:   Albers Aerospace Headquarters

Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer

Location:  McKinney, Texas preferred, Remote acceptable with up to 75% travel

Full/Part Time:  Full Time

Pay Range:  $170,000 to $200,000 annually

Security Clearance Req:  Secret

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager will provide leadership and guidance, work to improve core processes, and manage projects. They will accept ownership of all quality function throughout the company and ensure the staff is fully developed. This person must have a clear understanding of the business and technical aspects of the quality assurance function in order to support the entire organization. This role is also responsible for coaching and mentoring functional leads and team members in quality assurance processes along with supporting the Albers Business System Office team. 

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Lead teams of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians across Albers Aerospace.
  • Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, AS9100, ISO 9000, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
  • Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
  • Work with customers, teammates, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements.
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings.
  • Oversee product recalls.
  • Maintain current knowledge of standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·       Supervisor of Quality personnel across the company.

 

Schedule:

·       M-F, 8-5 -Central Time.  Ability to work after hours during the week and weekends, as the workload requires.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

Required:

  • Applicants must possess 10+ years of specialized work experience must hold a Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. 
  • Applicants must have led Quality Assurance departments for at least two years. 
  • For this position, must have experience with aerospace quality assurance processes and management to include standards such as AS9100, ISO 9000, CMMI, DO-178B, etc.
  • Military or Government Service background, and excellent written and oral communication skills are preferred. 
  • Strong computer skills are required for this position.  However, at this time, no specialized software is required other than MS Office Applications and MS Project.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.


Physical Requirements:

·       Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·       Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

·       CONUS travel may be required from time to time.


Working Conditions

This job is usually accomplished in an indoor workshop environment.  Activities may include climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 lbs.  Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision, and acceptable depth perception. Noise levels range from quiet to extremely loud.
