Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for quality of aircraft, aircraft component, component repair and overhaul.
  • Responsible for procedural compliance of Services directives and standards. Inspects Company areas for housekeeping, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Performs technical inspections of aircraft, aircraft components and equipment.
  • Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems. (including avionics, electrical, instrument and armament) as required by functional assignment.
  • Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance.
  • Performs initial, in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
  • Maintains aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA).

Physical Demands:

This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in an indoor workshop environment. Activities may include climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 lbs.


Work Environment:

The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.
