Pay Range:  $130,000 to $160,000 annually

Job Summary:

A manufacturing general manager job description includes overseeing all plant operations, managing staff, setting performance goals, and ensuring quality, safety, and profitability. Key responsibilities involve developing and implementing strategies, managing budgets, coordinating production, and leading cross-functional teams in departments like production, quality, maintenance, and materials management. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and extensive experience in a manufacturing environment. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing facility's daily operations, including production, planning, and resource allocation. 
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a large team of managers and employees, and handle recruitment and training. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet company objectives, such as increasing profitability, reducing costs, and improving overall performance. 
  • Manage the facility's budget, monitor financial health, and ensure the business meets its financial goals. 
  • Ensure products meet quality standards, comply with all regulatory requirements, and that the facility maintains necessary certifications (e.g., ISO). 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, analyze production data to optimize efficiency, and address root causes of errors. 
  • Ensure a safe working environment, implement safety training programs, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. 
  • Extensive experience in the manufacturing industry, with significant experience in management and leadership roles. 
  • Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and implementing cost-saving measures. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills. 
  • Experience with supply chain management, quality control, and production processes. 

 

Schedule:·   

·         M-F, 8-5 -Central Time.  Ability to work after hours during the week and weekends, as the workload requires.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants must possess 10+ years of specialized work experience must hold a Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. 
  • Applicants must have led manufacturing environments for at least two years. 
  • For this position, we must have experience with quality assurance processes and management to include standards such as AS9100, ISO 9000, CMMI, DO-178B, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, Computer Skills: MS Office Application and MS Project
  • Must be a U.S citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a strong ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships with staff, management, and other departments. 
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing or Military/Government Service background

Physical Requirements:

·         Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·         Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

·         CONUS travel may be required from time to time.

Working Conditions

This job is usually accomplished in an indoor workshop environment.  Activities may include climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 lbs.  Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision, and acceptable depth perception. Noise levels range from quiet to extremely loud.
