We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Scientific Solutions Architect to join our growing team. This role, with a focus on enterprise integrations, is critical to driving successful outcomes for Albert’s most strategically important customers, from pre-sales engagement through deployment. What you’ll do:
As a Scientific Solutions Architect, you’ll bridge the gap between scientific R&D workflows, enterprise business processes, and system integrations. You’ll partner with R&D and IT leaders across the chemicals and materials space to understand their goals, R&D workflows, data, and system architectures to guide successful adoption and implementation of Albert’s platform.
Solution-to-Value Alignment:
- Translate customer R&D needs and pain points into actionable integration and workflow solutions aligned with business goals.
- Relay and prioritize integration and data flow requirements to internal teams, driving timely delivery of scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Partner with R&D, IT, Regulatory, and commercial operations teams to implement and scale successful integrations with systems such as ERPs, CRMs, ELN/LIMS, and PLMs, connecting their value to business goals.
- Guide customers in mapping existing business processes and data structures into data workflows within and integrations with Albert.
- Collaborate with customers on the business logic of integrations to ensure data transformations and workflow automations reflect customer-specific needs.
Integration Execution & Business Logic Design
- Lead workshops to gather integration requirements, including architectural diagrams, data flow diagrams, API specifications, data mappings, and event triggers.
- Design and document integration architectures and data models, ensuring alignment with Albert’s platform standards.
- Partner with technical teams to oversee testing, validation, and deployment of integrations.
- Provide guidance to customers’ IT teams and integration partners to ensure robust, secure, and scalable connections between Albert and enterprise systems.
Sales Support
- Support enterprise sales and partnerships by delivering technical presentations, leading exploratory discussions, mapping laboratory workflows to Albert, and constructing architectural and data flow diagrams.
- Develop presentation materials that emphasize the value of our solutions to customer business needs, and manage key partnership discussions to help shape effective, scalable engagements with public communication of successes.
- Partner with Sales Enablement to provide input on customer engagement strategies to support successful, long-term solution implementation and value alignment.
Relationship Management and Thought Leadership
- Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, acting as a trusted scientific and technical advisor.
- Represent Albert in strategic customer conversations and technical workshops
- Drive customer satisfaction and expansion by advocating for their long-term digital success
- Leverage industry knowledge and experience to establish credibility and trust with clients, ranging from individual contributors to executives.
- Serve as the voice of the customer’s integration and process needs within Albert Invent, providing feedback and insights to help shape product offerings and service delivery.
You will have:
- B.S. degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related scientific/engineering discipline.
- Five+ years of industry experience, preferably in chemical/materials R&D or digital transformation
- Proven experience designing and delivering integrations with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, ELN/LIMS, and PLM platforms.
- Experience with Python, AWS, various DBMS, integration middleware
- Extensive experience utilizing APIs
- Strong understanding of R&D IT ecosystems: ELN/LIMS, PLM, ERP, and analytics tools
- Ability to lead and manage complex integration projects involving multiple stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery.
- Deep working knowledge of Chemistry and Materials Science, and familiarity with the broader chemicals industry.
- Change management expertise.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective engagement with clients, technical teams, and executives.
- Ability to travel greater than 40% (North America and Europe).
