Job Title: Operations Associate

Reports to (title): VP, Director - Sales & Shareholder Administration

Job Description:

Alger seeks an Operations Associate to oversee day-to-day transfer agency operations for the onshore and offshore Mutual Fund products.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily oversight of the transfer agent’s operations, including trade processing, account maintenance, and reconciliations.
  • Review and track key performance and service level metrics to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Support periodic due diligence reviews and documentation of control testing.
  • Review shareholder activity reports and identify potential data discrepancies or trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and escalation summaries.
  • Maintain accurate records of correspondence, issue logs, and service review notes.
  • Participate in projects to enhance automation, reporting efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Legal, Compliance) to resolve TA-related inquiries.
  • Maintain and update mutual fund profiles through DTCC/NSCC systems to ensure timely and accurate fund information.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above in a 4.0 scale is required
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience working with transfer agent and intermediaries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities with a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, and formulas
  • Interest in mutual funds, transfer agency operations, and investment management industry.
  • Series 6, 7 or relevant course work preferred.


Salary Expectations: $80,000-100,000 base salary plus discretionary bonus per performance
