Position Title:  Director of Fundraising

Department: Fundraising

Reports to:  President, All* Above All 

Manages: A team of 1

  • Associate Director of Fundraising 

Hours per week (average): 40

Location: Remote to the contiguous United States

Overtime Status: Exempt

Compensation: Directors start at $150,000, with final offers based on experience and location.

Position Summary

The Director of Fundraising will shape and lead All*'s efforts to secure the financial resources necessary to advance its mission across its c3, c4, and PAC entities. Reporting directly to the President, this role requires a dynamic leader who can develop innovative fundraising strategies, foster meaningful donor relationships, and guide a collaborative team to achieve ambitious revenue goals.

This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by diversifying and expanding All*'s donor base, enhancing digital fundraising initiatives, and ensuring effective communication across programs. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for reproductive justice with a proven track record in fundraising leadership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.


What you'll do

  • Develop and oversee the execution of All*'s fundraising strategy across c3, c4, and PAC initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead all fundraising activities, including major gifts, individual giving, institutional giving, digital campaigns, and events, tailored to the needs of each organizational type.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Manage donor correspondence, including the preparation of proposals, reports, and acknowledgments.
  • Plan and execute quarterly funder briefings.
  • Create and regularly update a 5- to 10-year fundraising strategy, incorporating innovative approaches to donor engagement and revenue generation.
  • Monitor fundraising trends and identify new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Build, support, and develop a high-performing fundraising team, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage and oversee the department's budget, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, cost-efficiency, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Work closely with program directors to ensure alignment of communications and fundraising efforts.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and provide constructive feedback to ensure team success.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of donor data in the database, overseeing regular updates and data integrity.
  • Maintain systems for tracking fundraising performance and generating reports.
  • Assess when to involve the President and other senior leaders in funder meetings.
  • Travel as needed, estimated at 50% of the year.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in fundraising, with at least 3-5 years in management roles.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing fundraising strategies, including major gifts, institutional giving, and digital campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of donor management systems; familiarity with EveryAction is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% annually.
  • Commitment to reproductive justice and ensuring access to abortion for all people.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.

  •  An understanding of abortion access as an economic, immigrant, and racial justice issue.
  •  Experience working on issues impacting Black, Indigenous, and people of color; young people; and/or immigrants; or people struggling financially.
  •  Views culture shift, organizing, and movement building as key components of issue campaigns.
  • Strong commitment to centering people of color and striving to be anti-racist.
