Job Summary:
Alpine is looking for a Temporary Ordinary Seaman. The Ordinary Seaman (OS) is an unlicensed member of the Deck Department crew who performs work pertaining to general maintenance, repair, sanitation, and upkeep of material, equipment, and areas that are the responsibility of the Deck Department. The job responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to the description below.
Responsibilities:
- All aspects of line handling on the vessel.
- Vessel maintenance and housekeeping.
- Chip and paint decks and superstructure of the vessel.
- Ensures a clean, sanitary environment aboard the vessels, including all aspects of cleaning inside and outside of the vessel.
- Aids as needed, the Captain in checking and inspecting the vessel’s safety equipment.
- Provides support to the engine room as needed per direction of the Captain.
- Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures.
- Ensures vessel and survey crew follow safety and PPE protocols.
Requirements/Certifications/Licenses:
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience as a seaman required.
- High school diploma or equivalent degree required.
- Merchant Mariner Credential, Ordinary Seaman / Stewards Department.
- TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
- Current STCW Basic Training Course, and valid STCW Medical Certificate.
- Valid passport.
- Valid, clean state driver’s license.
- Legally authorized to work in the US, without restriction.
- Ability to work 84-hour work week.
- Ability to live aboard vessel for full rotation.
- Ability to understand hand signals and verbal commands in English.
- Must be able to communicate in English both written and verbal (including over the telephone and radio).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
- Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

The pay range for this role is:
$200-$220 Day Rate (Offshore/Remote United States)
