About the role

The Hawaiʻi Development Officer is a new role at Always Dream that joins a team of fundraisers
and relationship builders working together to support the achievement of ambitious revenue
goals in service of the 5-year strategic plan. This role will be responsible for all front-line
fundraising activities that occur within our Hawai'i portfolio. This role will work closely with every
member of the development team to ensure partnership and stewardship as we continue to
grow our impact/reach.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the front-line fundraiser for the Hawaiʻi portfolio
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals for Hawaiʻi based portfolio, towards a $2.2M total revenue goal
  • Build and manage the fundraising strategy and portfolio of Hawaiʻi-based major donors and corporate donors
  • Assist in the creation of a Hawaiʻi specific donor stewardship program to ensure high renewals and excellent donor experiences
  • Lead organizer of Hawaiʻi events including annual Dream Gala, cultivation and stewardship events
  • Assist with Board support as needed
  • Represent and be the face of Always Dream at local business, nonprofits, grantee events
  • Collaborate with Development & Marketing Director and the Always Dream team to implement the fundraising strategy and achieve organizational revenue goals

  • Possess a deep commitment to the mission of Always Dream
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising and supporting an organization's revenue growth and scale in Hawaiʻi
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Proficiency using computers and software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
  • Familiarity with Salesforce a plus
  • Outstanding problem solver with the ability to make quick, sound decisions and the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and driven, ability to thrive in a hybrid working environment
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a solutions-oriented and collaborative mindset
  • Attention to detail and the ability to operate with considerable independence to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints
  • There is some travel required for this position. Expect frequent local travel on Oʻahu, and occasional travel to neighbor islands for donor cultivation and stewardship.


  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Salesforce (non-profit)
  • Experience with planning/executing large fundraising events 
  • Ability to cultivate relationships and meaningful connections with potential and current donors

Role Benefits
  • Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance: These benefits are provided at 100% coverage to full-time employees. If the employee has dependents, their dependents also receive 100% coverage.
  • Connectivity Allowance: Full-time employees are eligible for $50 per month allowance for connectivity costs.
  • 401K: Always Dream offers an employer sponsored 401K plan which employees are currently eligible for after one month of employment; Always Dream will match up to 3% upon enrollment.
  • Vacation: 15 days (120 hours) per fiscal year; can accrue up to 22.5 days (180 hours)
  • Sick: 80 hours granted at the beginning of each fiscal year; resets to 80 on July 1 annually
  • Holidays & Paid Closure: 10 paid holidays per calendar year, paid summer closure the week of Independence Day, and paid winter closure from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day

The pay range for this role is:

70,000 - 81,000 USD per year (Remote - O'ahu, US)
