About American Kids Sports Center

Founded in 1984 as American Academy of Gymnastics, American Kids Sports Center (AKSC) has grown into one of California's most unique and successful kids sports center.  Under the direction of owners Mike & Sheri Williams, AKSC has established an organization that sees its purpose as helping children to learn strong VALUES with which they will set worthy GOALS and for which we must train them in the SKILLS needed to achieve those goals.  Sport training is the tool we use to achieve that purpose.




About the role

  • At American Kids Sports Center, we provide Gymnastics, Ninja Zone, and Swimming lessons for children with special abilities. We are committed to training our staff to teach these lessons, giving them the tools they need to be successful. No experience needed in the recreational activities but require experience working with children with special abilities. This is a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace.

  •  As a Special Abilities Instructor you are responsible for the safety of each student while teaching them unique skills. You will work to build confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities.   • We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves teaching and being around kids. We offer paid training. Starting wage is negotiable, with prior experience. This is a full-time position that requires afternoon/evening and weekend shifts, in addition to some mornings during the week.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with special abilities
  • Caring and compassion for children and adults with special abilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Great attitude and willingness to be coached
  • The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to commit to at least 1 year of employment, afternoons and weekends required.
