Overview 

Americans for Responsible Innovation (ARI) is seeking a Scheduler to join our growing organization. The Scheduler will plan and execute the scheduling of the day-to-day calendar for the President and Executive Director. 


About the Role

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Scheduler will work closely with the Chief of Staff in scheduling meetings and relevant organizational projects.


The Scheduler, with direction from the Chief of Staff, will be responsible for coordinating scheduling, travel planning, and calendar needs for the President and Executive Director. We are seeking a detail-oriented and agile scheduler for the President and Executive Director, someone with strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve logistical challenges in a fast-paced environment. The Scheduler will play a key role in supporting ARI’s policy efforts by ensuring efficient and effective time management, enabling leadership to focus on advancing a bipartisan tech policy agenda.


Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, assist with the schedule of the President and Executive Director–scheduling meetings as directed, editing the calendar, and assisting with the day-to-day operations for both principals. 
  • Assist with travel bookings, specifically purchasing flights and hotels for the President and Executive Director's travel. 
  • On certain occasions, assist in drafting messages and/or emails for the President and Executive Director. 
  • Support ad hoc projects, such as event coordination. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1+ year of experience working directly for a senior executive in a fast-paced scheduling capacity. 
  • Alignment with ARI’s mission and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain trust-based, productive relationships.
  • Reputation for trustworthiness, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities at once. 
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Slack. 


Preferred:

  • Experience as a scheduler for a lawmaker or high-profile figure. 


Compensation, Benefits, and Location

This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC. ARI maintains a flexible hybrid work schedule (working in-person Tuesday-Thursday and remote on Monday and Friday).


The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience.

Hiring Process

We plan to use the following steps for this hiring process. We are aiming to close the search by the end of November, and for the candidate of choice to start by mid-December. Candidates who apply by October 3rd will receive priority consideration. 


  1. Application Review: Our team will review submitted applications and make a decision on who to move forward to the next step of the process. 
  2. 1st Round Interview: Virtual 1:1 conversation with our recruiter. 
  3. 2nd Round Interview: Virtual 1:1 conversation with the Hiring Manager. 
  4. Hiring Exercise: A roughly 3-hour hiring exercise. Candidates who submit an exercise will be compensated for their time. 
  5. Final Interview: In-person panel interview at our office. 
  6. Reference Checks: We’ll ask for references from the top candidate(s) to help us confirm and/or make a final decision.
