the job:

We’re looking for a creative, proactive, and social media–obsessed intern to join amika’s content team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all facets of social media—from UGC discovery and community engagement to trend tracking and campaign planning. You’ll help us tell meaningful stories, create standout content, and grow our digital presence. By the end of this internship, you’ll have a strong portfolio and a deeper understanding of how social media drives brand awareness and engagement in beauty 

salary: $16 per hour

location: hybrid - Brooklyn, NY(must be based in + have the right to work in the US)

what you'll do:

• Own and execute a project focused on UGC discovery + community growth 
• Support day-to-day social execution 
• Assisting with content creation, scheduling, and publishing 
• Monitoring and engaging with community comments and DMs 
• Identify potential UGC or creators for repost or outreach  
• Participate in campaign brainstorms and contribute to creative ideation 
• Help track performance across social posts and campaigns 
• Help with BTS content capture during shoots + events 
• Stay on top of trending audios + memes  
• Maintain content libraries  
• Own product send outs for the social team 

must haves:

• A strong understanding of social platforms, and a genuine love for the platforms 
• Excellent research and organizational skills 
• A passion for content creation and digital storytelling 
• Strong writing skills and a good grasp of brand voice and tone 
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines 
• Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute creatively

nice to haves:

• Experience with Canva, CapCut, Later, or other social editing tools 
• Familiarity with social analytics platforms (e.g. Dash Hudson, Sprout, or native insights) 
• Previous internship or hands-on experience with a beauty, lifestyle, or fashion brand 
• Basic photo/video editing skills 
• A curated social media presence or portfolio of work
