the job:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Development Intern to join our Packaging Development team in Brooklyn, NY. This is a 6-month, on-site internship. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Packaging Development Engineer and broader technical team to support packaging development, testing, documentation, and process improvement initiatives.


salary: $16 per hour

location: Brooklyn, NY (must be based in + have the right to work in the US)



what you'll do:

  • Assist with tracking packaging timelines for new product development (NPD) projects.
  • Support lab testing efforts by conducting package evaluations and organizing test data.
  • Write, optimize, and review technical testing protocols and reports.
  • Manage packaging samples and shipments, including organizing samples by category.
  • Coordinate artwork and color development processes (e.g., dielines, sample management, proof approvals).
  • Order packaging components from internal or external suppliers.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of packaging databases and documentation systems.
  • Support ongoing process improvement projects within the packaging development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Marketing, and Quality Assurance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support packaging development goals.


must haves:

  • Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (junior or senior standing preferred) in Packaging Science, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
  • Familiarity with lab testing equipment (e.g., scales, torque gauges, calipers) is a plus.
  • Prior lab or technical internship experience is a bonus but not required.
