the job:
amika means “friend,” and we show up for our community—pros included. we’re looking for a passionate, relationship-forward trade marketing manager to support and grow our footprint across saloncentric, cosmoprof, and a strong network of independent distributors.
in this role, you’ll build 360° programs that drive both sell-in and sell-through, empower stylists, elevate our education impact, and create standout merchandising + digital experiences across the professional channel.
you should have a strong understanding of how the salon professional ecosystem works—stores, salons, salon suites/booth renters, sub-distribution, national/regional chains and ecommerce and within those - DSCs, internal sales teams, educators, backbar consumption, stylist motivations, promo levers, and distributor operations. haircare experience is a plus, but passion for the pro community is even better.
location: remote (nyc-based preferred + have the right to work in the US)
what you'll do:
channel strategy & 360° activation
- translate brand campaigns into professional-channel-ready programs across in-store, digital, distributor portals, crm, sampling, and education.
- partner with sales + education leadership to build annual + seasonal calendars that power launches, promotions, events, backbar initiatives, and hero franchises.
- lead creation of pro channel toolkits (sell-in decks, digital assets, pos materials, merchandising briefs, promos, stylist-facing storytelling).
- collaborate with the education team to align on stylist training needs, artist programming, backbar initiatives, and event support.
- own execution of planogram recommendations and in-store visuals—gondola updates, fixtures/displays (incl floorstands, cashwraps, POP, etc), signage, shelf enhancements—across saloncentric, cosmoprof, independent distributors, and national/regional chains.
stylist engagement & sell-through acceleration
- support distributor sales consultants (DSCs) with impactful education + sales tools that boost product knowledge and recommendation confidence.
- partner in collaboration with field sales leadership andfield educators, ambassadors + artists to bring amika’s brand magic to life in stores, classes, and events.
- develop programs with marketing that drive stylist adoption: sampling strategies, class conversion kits, pro-exclusive bundles, gwp, intro kits, holiday kits, new product launches, and thoughtful promo cadence.
distributor partnership & communication
- act as a day-to-day partner for saloncentric, cosmoprof, and independent distributor marketing teams.
- join business reviews, JBPs, quarterly planning sessions, and marketing syncs.
- manage all submissions—from digital assets to pricing to merchandising specs—with accuracy + timeliness.
- maintain internal calendars, trackers, timelines, and weekly updates to keep cross-functional teams aligned.
insights, reporting & optimization
- analyze business performance by distributor, store, region, sku, and education channel to uncover growth opportunities.
- track promo and merchandising execution to assess impact and inform future planning.
- stay up to date on pro beauty trends, competitor strategies, education models, and stylist behavior to fuel innovation.
- build recap reports and roi analyses with clear insights + actionable next steps.
project management & budget ownership
- manage budgets across pro trade marketing programs merchandising, and content needs.
- track spend + manage invoicing with precision.
- oversee production + distribution of print materials, backbar items, kits, and event collateral.
- ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and at amika’s standard of excellence.
must haves:
- 3–5+ years in trade marketing, pro channel marketing, or distributor marketing—professional
beauty strongly preferred. - deeply familiar with the salon professional ecosystem: saloncentric, cosmoprof, independents,
dsc networks, education structures, and stylist buying behavior. - a strong communicator who can build compelling sell-in stories and present confidently to
both internal teams + distributor partners. - data-curious and comfortable with sell-through, performance dashboards, and promotional
analysis. - collaborative, optimistic, resourceful—and eager to partner with sales, education, creative,
operations, finance, and the field. - organized, detail-obsessed, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
