Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will be responsible for working with the leadership team to manage the financial operations of the agency. From client billing to budget management, this position plays a crucial role in driving the financial health and stability of the organization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in strategic financial management, an ability to collaborate with teams across the organization, and seeks ongoing improvement and optimizations. 

What you'll do

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support strategic decision making and long-term planning.
    • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to track progress against goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with leadership to implement and maintain a budgeting process. 
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely invoicing and payment collections.
  • Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive business growth and profitability.
    • Provide financial guidance and recommendations to support investment decisions, pricing strategies, and resource allocation.
    • Evaluate potential key business decisions from a financial perspective.
    • Help to cultivate a culture of accountability, transparency, and integrity within the finance department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA required. 
  • 10 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the marketing or advertising industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing financial challenges.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
