About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Supply Chain Specialist, HV & MV to oversee and optimize the entire supply chain lifecycle for our medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) equipment, with a specific focus on transformers. This role is critical in ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of necessary components and finished goods to support project execution and operational needs. The successful candidate will drive competitive bidding processes, cultivate strong vendor relationships, and expertly negotiate complex commercial terms and agreements.


Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Procurement and Bidding Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of competitive bidding processes (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) for MV and HV equipment, particularly power transformers, HV breakers, and other related equipment.
  • Evaluate bids for both commercial and technical project requirements and ensure all equipment complies with industry standards (e.g., ANSI, IEC) and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans that align with company objectives for cost reduction, quality improvement, and delivery performance.

Vendor Management and Negotiation

  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers of MV/HV equipment.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, securing favorable terms regarding pricing, payment schedules, warranties, performance guarantees, and delivery timelines.

Supply Chain Operations and Risk Management

  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain logistics, including scheduling and coordinating delivery of large-scale equipment.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., lead time variability, geopolitical issues, material shortages) and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure technical specifications are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function, leveraging best practices and technology.

While no one individual will possess them all, the successful candidate will bring many of the following experiences, skills, and attributes:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or strategic sourcing, with at least 3 years focused specifically on medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) electrical equipment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of MV and HV power transformers (design, specifications, manufacturing processes, and market dynamics).
  • Familiarity with other substation components is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills. Strong analytical capabilities, including proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to meet with vendors and internal teams.

The pay range for this role is:
