The Role
Sr. Contract Compliance Auditors serve as lead auditors of an engagement and champion of the client’s day-to-day relationship. They verify and process claims. They ensure audits are properly performed and build relationships with key client stakeholder(s). This team works to identify opportunities by recommending APEX solutions that create value for their clients and inform both internal/external stakeholders throughout the life of the engagement.
The Work
- Develop positive stakeholder relationships in working with all levels at the client.
- Be professional with a client’s supplier in auditing the contractual relationship.
- Become the resident expert for their clients’ systems and processes.
- Perform in-depth reviews and document auditable clauses where financial leakage may occur from the contract between client and supplier
- Assist as needed in the processing of data obtained from both client and supplier.
- Lead the discussion, negotiation, and resolution of identified financial discrepancies.
- Provide customer and supplier audit reports and updates as required for all stakeholders.

- Perform administrative activities as needed on a timely basis.
- Assist in the development and training of less experienced auditors.
- Ensure each claim exceeds the client’s expectation for quality.
- Management multiple engagements simultaneously and prioritize activities within each engagement.
- Perform a quality review of all deliverables from beginning to end of each engagement
The Must-Haves
- 3-5 years’ experience in Contract Compliance auditing (Commercial/Retail) and/or Forensic Accounting Professional Services.
- Significant knowledge of ERP or payables systems
- Self-starter with the capability to analyze a vendor's systems, business rules and data without detailed instructions.
- Strong analytical skill set and a strong desire to perform extensive research and draw conclusions from that research.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Commercial & Retail industries, key trends and major players
- Advanced knowledge of general accounting/auditing principles and practices
- Knowledge of or aptitude to learn APEX Analytix audit technologies, processes, and procedures
- Understand process mapping and workflow development.

- Ability to project competence, credibility, and professionalism, including the ability to use these qualities to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Ability to work cohesively with a team as well as self-directed work on individual action items and projects with team goals and deliverables at front of mind.
- Ability to negotiate and process claims independently and in accordance with set procedures
- Ability to understand and interpret trends in data
- Ability to leverage APEX Analytix technology solutions to shorten the cycle time of the detection, prevention, and recovery of lost profits for our client
- Excellent client and interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to establish credibility and interact with all levels of business users
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Skill in project management, including the ability to implement specific areas of the audit plan, adhere to audit schedule, manage and oversee the progress of audit staff, and work on multiple projects
- Skilled in the use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, MS Project and MS Visio)
- Data analytic skills such as MS Access, SQL, Advance Excel queries are a plus
- Ability to work in a remote/work-from-home environment while staying productive.
Education Levels/Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, management information systems, accounting, or finance (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Professional Certifications such as CPA, CFE, CFF, CIA, CISA, and ABV are preferred but not required.
