Documents are embedded across nearly every part of the employee lifecycle, powering critical experiences across HR, payroll, benefits, compliance, and more. The Documents Platform team builds the shared platform behind these experiences, providing reusable capabilities for creating, generating, importing, signing, annotating, tracking, and managing documents. Rather than each product team building these capabilities independently, Documents Platform provides the common infrastructure and primitives that teams across Rippling can build on.
As a Staff Software Engineer on Documents Platform, you’ll help define the technical and product direction of this platform as Rippling and the complexity of the use cases we support continue to grow. You’ll work across backend services and customer-facing product surfaces, partnering closely with product and engineering teams to turn complex document needs into simple, scalable, and extensible platform capabilities. You’ll play a key role in shaping both the architecture of the platform and the quality of document experiences across Rippling’s product suite.

Rippling highly values in-office collaboration. Employees living within 30 miles of an office are expected to work onsite three days a week with those living 30-49.9 miles away expected to be in the office one day a week. Employees living over 50 miles away are required to relocate within 30 miles of an office. To enhance team cohesiveness, new employees are asked to work onsite three days a week for their first six months.
