The Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. Since 1953, ArcGNO has provided advocacy, education, and support services to individuals and families across Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Tammany parishes.


Our programs include family support coordination, supported living services, employment and job coaching, community integration programs, and transportation services that help individuals thrive at home, at work, and in their communities.

Summary

ArcGNO is seeking a motivated, people-focused Human Resources Recruitment and Retention Coordinator to support recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention efforts across the organization.


Essential Job Functions

  • Post job openings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews.
  • Complete reference checks, background screenings, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and coordinate required training.
  • Check in with new employees during their first 30 days.
  • Conduct stay interviews and support employee recognition and engagement activities.
  • Track recruitment, onboarding, turnover, and retention data.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records.
  • Assist with CARF surveys, compliance audits, and other HR initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in recruitment, onboarding, human resources, or employee engagement preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, interviewing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and confidential information.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, HRIS, or applicant-tracking systems preferred.
  • Human services, disability services, nonprofit, or CARF experience is a plus.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Regular travel to ArcGNO locations and job fairs is required. Applicants must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and required automobile insurance.
