About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CCRN-certified Item Writer to undertake a targeted revision of our CCRN QBank and lead the development of new, original CCRN board questions to align to the updated test plan released in November 2025.


Employment Type: 1099 Contractor

Rate: $60.00 per hour

Contract: ~20 hours per week

Location: Must be US-based; Fully Remote

Start Date: Immediate, with project duration through end of April


What you'll do

  • Partner with our internal product and nursing teams following our QBank analysis to build a plan for question revision, focusing on strengthening clinical reasoning, prioritization and acuity-based decision-making.
  • Develop new, original CCRN-style board questions to address content requirements and ensure coverage aligns with the updated CCRN test plan and exam blueprint.
  • Ensure alignment of all questions with current critical care standards and evidence-based practice
  • Partner with our Editorial team who will provide guidance and feedback to iterate and improve question quality.


About you

  • CCRN certification and a strong critical care clinical background
  • Familiarity with AACN-style test plans and exam structure
  • Prior experience writing or editing board-style questions (strongly preferred)

The pay range for this role is:

60 - 60 USD per hour (Remote (United States))
