Archway Charter School

Teacher, Science

Archway Charter School exists to help students in rural Delta communities acquire, through an innovative, flexible, and accessible approach to learning and instruction, the skills, aptitudes, and knowledge needed to be successful and engaged citizens in an ever-changing world. As an open-enrollment charter school, Archway’s vision is to bridge educational gaps and provide a quality academic experience for Mississippi Delta middle and high school students by offering a hybrid charter school option that addresses the barriers of human capital, place, and time.

Why choose Archway?

We’ve dismantled the traditional classroom walls. Archway Charter School operates on a highly flexible hybrid schedule: 18 days of remote instruction followed by 2 intensive, high-impact days in person at our Belzoni campus.

This model allows you to live where you want while serving the students who need you most. Whether you are based in Jackson, Oxford, or even out of state, Archway makes it possible to be a Delta educator without the daily commute.

  • 18 Days Remote: Lead rigorous, synchronous virtual lessons from your home office. Use our advanced digital suite to facilitate small groups, 1-on-1 interventions, and collaborative projects.
  • 2 Days In-Person (The "Residency"): Twice a month, our community gathers in Belzoni. These "Power Days" are dedicated to hands-on labs, physical education, arts, community-building, and face-to-face mentorship.
  • Autonomy with Support: We provide a rigorous curriculum framework but give you the professional trust to adapt lessons to meet your students where they are.
  • A Culture of Growth: Our model includes dedicated time for collaborative planning and weekly professional development, ensuring you never stop growing as an educator.
  • The "Impact" Factor: Serve in some of Mississippi's most underserved communities, where your presence directly bridges the educational equity gap.
  • Competitive Compensation: We offer a salary and benefits package designed to honor your expertise and commitment to the Delta region.

Who We Are Looking For

At Archway Charter School, we aren’t just looking for employees; we are looking for pioneers. Whether you are in the classroom, managing operations, or supporting student wellness, you are a vital part of a model that is redefining what "school" looks like in the Mississippi Delta.

Because 90% of our operations happen in a virtual environment, tech-savviness is not a "plus"—it is our baseline. * You are a "digital native" who views software as a tool for connection, not a hurdle.

  • You are comfortable working across multiple platforms (Slack, Zoom, Cloud-based ERPs, LMS) and can troubleshoot your own digital workspace with confidence.
  • You believe that distance shouldn't diminish quality; you strive to make every virtual interaction as professional and impactful as an in-person one.

With 18 days of remote work a month, we don't believe in micromanagement. We hire adults who own their outcomes.

  • Radical Accountability: You thrive in an environment where you are judged by the quality of your work and the success of our students, not by the hours you sit at a desk.
  • Proactive Communication: You understand that in a remote world, "silence is deadly." You are an expert at keeping your team looped in through concise updates and collaborative digital tools.

Our 2 days on-campus in Belzoni are the "heartbeat" of our school year.

  • You are someone who shows up with energy. When we are on the ground in the Delta, you are fully present, building the real-world relationships that sustain our virtual work.
  • You possess "Delta Grit"—the adaptability to handle the fast-paced, high-touch nature of our in-person residency days with a solution-oriented attitude.

You are here because you believe the students of the Delta deserve the best minds in the country, regardless of where those minds live.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the "start-up" energy of a charter school.
  • You don't just follow systems; you help build and refine them to better serve a community that has been historically underserved.
