About the role

This unpaid internship program is tailored for engineering students seeking to enrich their academic learning with practical, hands-on experience in the field. Interns will collaborate with seasoned engineers and project managers, gaining invaluable insights into real-world applications of engineering principles.
 
Dive into server-side application logic and integration of the front-end developer's output. Back-end developers usually write the web services and APIs used by front-end and mobile application developers.
 
Responsibilities 
 
As a back-end developer, you will:
  • Get exposure to database management technologies forming part of the app being developed
  • Build Microservices using design patterns, consume or create REST APIs
  • Implement standard authentication techniques like ADFS to protect the back-end services
  • Work with technology stacks including: Node.Js, Python, Java, C++, MySQL, NoSQL, Relational Databases, Spring Boot, Kubernetes
Requirements
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or majors relating to these fields
  • One previously completed internship
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
  • Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
